Zbiór nagrań, które nie zostały nigdy uwzględnione na pełnoprawnych albumach. Nazwałem go Backgrounds ("Tła"), bo choć te numery nie stały się ostatecznie oficjalnymi elementami płyt, były i tak dla mnie bardzo ważne - żyłem nimi i pracowałem przy nich podczas rodzenia się większych projektów. Jest tu mieszanka bardzo różnych klimatów - od surowego, agresywnego High Killer po rozbudowany progresywny metal Helpless Heartbeat, od imprezowego Raindancers po introwertyczne, rozmarzone Just Don't Leave... etc. Wystarczy usłyszeć tę przepaść między pierwszym i ostatnim kawałkiem by zauważyć, że tak naprawdę album ten, choć jest niemal wypadkową mojej twórczości, całkiem zgrabnie ją podsumowuje.


Backgrounds compiles a bunch of tracks that had never been included on albums, They were very important to me at the time but just never seemed to make sense as parts of bigger projects. There are many colors here, from the aggressive High Killer to the deep progressive metal of Helpless Heartbeat and so forth... Even though this album is almost accidental, it serves as a pretty good showcase for the range of exploration during the two most intense years of creating as Metmass.
