about

The title is deliberate: No Strings Attached is simply a set of fun songs made very quickly. I wanted to get away from concepts and drama, laboring over hundreds of tiny details and investing so much of my emotional background into the process. Back when I did Far two years before, it was all about the fun of musical exploration and enjoying the experience. With that in mind, I sat down for twelve days and the result is my most straightforward album in the catalogue, balancing on the borders of rock, dance and different shades of electronic music. It's fast, energetic, lighthearted, relatively simple and for the most part, less detail-oriented than most of my other work ("Ocean Blue" is a good example of the minimalism), which probably makes it more instantly accessible and catchy, but also less interesting if you're into more serious concepts and layers of details - in that case I would advise to check other albums instead. On the other hand, this one notably contains more obvious rock/metal elements, such as the main riff in the title track, blastbeats in "Voila!" or the outro in "Brilliance" which is essentially a Meshuggah riff.
