Things Have Changed is the less defined and more abstract sister of Goodbye (they were done at the same time). Main point I wanted to convey with this one was that no matter how much of sad, heavy, heartfelt drama I lived through alone in my mind, ultimately it did not make my life any better - and it did not affect the world in any way. In other words, the album is expressing being stuck in a loop of emotions and going nowhere. A great example is "That One Island" - this track in particular is always going somewhere with great effort and enthusiasm, forcing the listener to explore different moods and tonalities... and in the end, none of it matters and there is no real point - it's all just bright colors.
